San Diego’s freshwater industry sector is thriving, with over 300 companies large and small, from ABC-XYZ: Arcadis, Alkema, AECOM, Aquacycl, Avista, ASTERRA, Black & Veatch, Brown & Caldwell, CDM-Smith to Stantec, Tetratech, Toray Membranes, Veolia, and Xylem (now including Evoqua Water Technologies as well as its brands Sensus, SonTek and YSI), among many others. In the irrigation sector, for example, major  companies (CalSense, Flume, Hunter Industries, Rain Bird and The Toro Company) are helping San Diego save water with smart tech —and  attending plus participating in WTA events.

Expertise in San Diego’s freshwater tech sector is broad and deep —enabling WTA to attract a wide range of top tech advisors to our Board, to guide WTA in advancing innovations, collaborations and recognition of San Diego.  WTA’s public and private forums connect expert speakers with colleagues, government officials, educational institutions and students, to engage in exciting conversations and develop collaborations plus innovative projects that benefit us all.

WTA events have been hosted by the mayors of local cities —-from Oceanside and Carlsbad to Chula Vista— together with directors of San Diego City and County water utilities; deans of our universities’ engineering departments; and leaders of our top companies as well as state, national (CalEPA, US EPA Water;  the National Alliance for Water Innovation) and international —Israeli and Danish— water authorities.  WTA’s official partners, the US EPA (WRAP Action 4.5, 2019-present https://www.epa.gov/waterreuse/national-water-reuse-action-plan-online-platform?action=4.5) and the Water Technology Alliance of Denmark (MOU 2021-2024, see News & Blogs page) are helping WTA “to strengthen cooperation and knowledge sharing related to climate resilience, drought mitigation, and water management”.

YOUR partnership as a WTA member (individual or corporate), event sponsor, student or mentor, will enable WTA to be successful in these important aims.
